AS media

I have been working on the final draft of my magazine including the pictures and interview. when that was completed i made another questionnaire for feedback- asking the same amount of people as the research one. I have noticed from this i need to make a few changes to it, but overall my breif has been meet and i have meet the targets audiences needs. I found out that this publication would sell better online so i have changed a few things rather than selling in shops. Once i have finished the changes for the magazine i will then write the evaluation for the whole task and add it to my presentation.

This week i have taken my photos for the magazine and have writen the interview. The interview is a very rough copy so this week i will need to write it all as a proper question and answer interveiw and put it in the layout i have made in publisher. The pictures and the interview are what i wanted to use in my magazine, although i will not use all of the pictures i took. I now need to work on teh edit of the pictures and put them in my draft copy to hand in which is what i will be working on this week, then i can decide if anything needs to be changed for my final copy.

This week i have just been working on my first draft of the magazine, i have set it all out although my photoshoot is not untill sunday 21st so i will be unable to include pictures untill then. By actually properly working on my layout i have realised i like the look of it, i think it suits the genre and type of magazine, and it looks how i wanted it to. This is useful as i am now moving forward with completing the final draft of the magazine. Next week i will have the pictures i will be using and the interview so i can complete my first draft putting it all in together. By doing this i will realise any mistakes and any chages i need to make before i hand in my final draft.

We have been told to give a first draft copy of our magazine with the cover, contents and the two page spread. So i have now begun my layout-starting on the cover. i have chosen my font and my final layout so i shall now start in publishers making a draft copy. I have also chosen layouts for the cotents and two page spread using more pictures of the band. Although my first draft handed in will not include pictures as i have set up a photoshoot for next week.

I have been working on the research and planning of my magazine looking at the rules and regulations i will have to deal with in making my magazine, with information i should include and things i should avaid from either offending anyone or getting into any trouble. I have included some of this information in with my presentation just basicaly so you can get the idea of rules i need to follow. I have also been working on anaylysis of magazine for my reasearch into the same and different genres so i can get a proper view of things i can include to satisfy my audience.

I have now completed the graphs to show all of the responses i recieved from the 20 people i gave my questionnaire to. This has helped my decisions on the layout and content of my magazine including the colours i will use and the layout i will use on my front cover which will be a black and white messy layout. I have also completed the audience profiling slide of my presentation researching different types of audiences that match different types of magazines and the type that will best suit mine so i can improve my magazine to suit my target audience.

Over the past four weeks i have been working on the magazine on my own as Amanda is not includied anymore i will be completing it by myself. I am going to start again by taking pictures and the interview for my own magazine- still in the punk genre. I have done the changes in my presentation i needed to do as i will be using a different band, although i am keeping the same layout, fonts, colours and basic ideas of my original magazine- but instead of being at a live show the band will be recording. I have chosen all the fonts and colours for my final idea now i will just need to put them together once i have taken the pictires i am going to use. This week i realised beceause i have made an open questionnaire i would not be able to make any reponse graphs because everyone would have different answers,so i hadto recreate my questionnaire to close questions so that i could accurately make decions on ideas for my magazine- as well as making graphs to so poeples responses to music magazines. I have also completed my mood board showing what kind of pictures, layouts and colours i want to use for my cover and content of my magazine.

This week i have completed my own questionnaire on research for the target audience of my own magazine and ones in it's genre, so i can collect popular information on opinions of magazines to find out what our target audience want. I have also been working on some of the existing magazine research- the cover research and analysis i did this by finding previous magazine covers in similar alternative genres and analysing them such as the style of photo, fonts, colours and layouts to help decide and idea for our final draft for the magazine cover- from doing this i have come up with ideas for the layout which i will try and put together when i get to that part of the brief.

At the begining of the week i completed my blog for the first weeks work. On the 4th we went to take the pictures and interveiws for both the issues of our magazine, so we will now just need to work on the research untill the presentation at the beggining of January. i have also started on my questionnaire, as amanda has already completed hers we will just need to join them together and post so they can be completed and we can gather out information.

We have now started our coursework assignment, which i have chosen to do a magazine for. I am working with amanda, we have chosen to make a new punk magazine as we realised there is a gap in the market for this kind of product. We have set up an interview and photoshoot for two different bands in this genre for the two different issues of the magazine- we have also set up an interveiw with their manager to ask about the different demands of the bands, what is popular and what people want. Amanda has also set up interveiws with a few different editors of magazines in this genre to use for our questionaaires. We have decided we will have to have some of the same features in each issue, one of which is a bar rant which we have set up with the gallows. We have put our questionaaire together, which will be posted on the total rock magazine website and also on facebook, just to get a wider range of opinions, rather than just a selected view.
